Through their Urban Greens program, the Muskingum County Soil and Water Conservation District seeks to eliminate the fresh produce desert as they teach people to grow their own food. The Straker Foundation was happy to invest in their community gardens work. Not only do the gardens feed the people who nurture them, but they also provide extra produce which the Soil and Water District shares with food pantries and soup kitchens in the County.
